Pick-your-own apple adventure

Today was one of the first days in a while where I could actually relax.

I was able to enjoy my morning run, lounge around, do a little work, and pay a visit to a pick-your-own apples orchard!

Stayman Winesap

I’d been hoping to be able to visit this orchard and pick up some apples because it’s such a fun thing to do.  Basically anything that revolves around food is a good time to me! The apples in season this week were Fuji and Stayman Winesap.

I got about 11 apples in total, half of each kind. While I love apples and could probably eat them all, I have plans for the majority of my bounty.

After we were done picking, we visited the little market they have, and  enjoyed a caramel apple lollipop and some yummy apple cider donuts (no pictures because they were too good, I just couldn’t wait).

I also picked up some veggies that I needed and some that called my name (hello, spaghetti squash!).

I can’t wait to experiment and try out some recipes with the cabbage and squash. Plus my special apple plans for later this week.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
