Settling in to healthy

Things have settled down here lately. Or maybe I’ve just settled into things. But either way, I have a little more free time in all the busyness.

So it’s been easier for me to workout and not feel as stressed about running or lifting or practicing yoga. On Monday, I went on a longer run down a path covered with leaves and it felt great just relax and run it out.

And the usual yoga class I go to was taught by a guest instructor who really pushed us, and it made me feel great. Usually I just like yoga for the stretching but I felt like I was stretching and challenging myself at the same time. It was a wonderful feeling. And I’ve heard that hot yoga is a great workout but I have yet to go. Maybe I’ll put that on my to-do list.

Spending my time doing these healthy things for my body also makes me want to upgrade my diet. Usually I’m pretty healthy but lately I’ve been craving super healthy things and chocolate candy.

This chocolate almond butter smoothie I made after yoga was the perfect way to refuel after my run and yoga.

What kind of exercise do you like best? How do you balance sweet and healthy especially after a great workout?
