Working Towards a Chocolatey Goal

I think I’ve mentioned a few times that I’m training for a 15k. To be a specific it’s called the “Hot Chocolate 15K” which I have to admit, is my primary reason for running it.

oh, what I’ll do for food. 🙂

So I’ve been following Hal Higdon’s running plan with a little modification and while I could probably managed the intermediate level, I’ve stuck with beginner because of time restrictions. It’s worked really well so far, and last Saturday was my first really “long” run. It was 6 miles, and while I’ve done this before, this run definitely kicked my butt. I’m attributing it to the food I ate before hand, so I think I’ll have to be more careful in the future.

The race is on December 3rd so I only have 3 weeks from Saturday till the race. I’m getting really excited and the training is definitely helping to pump me up!

I’ve also been indulging on baked goods lately especially since I got a package from a dear friend yesterday filled with these scrumptious chocolate chip cookies.

I had this almond butter filled cookiewich as an evening snack last night. Delicious!

It’s great to have wonderful friends who enable us (to treat ourselves).

    So I blame you for why I now put Kale on everything. 🙂 The other night I had a turkey burger with kale on it. Last night I had a tuna/cheese/banana pepper melt in a tortilla with kale on it. Also, I think I finally cooked it right for the first time last night hahaha. it wasn’t soggy, it was finally crispy…it tasted a lot better lol.
