The holiday season is a dangerous time my friends.
Sure I like to bake and cook all year round, but during the holiday season that’s ALL I want to do. Plus, you have to sample everything you make of course, and sometimes the goods don’t make it out of the kitchen if ya know what I mean.
So I always look for treats to make that have some sort of portion control, or can distribute to various friends/bring to parties.
Enter bark. Even if you don’t gift it, it’s perfect for a little treat because they’re broken into pieces! (but that doesn’t always stop me 🙂 ). However, I took this to a Christmas party a couple days ago, and it was pretty much gone by the end. Which is a good thing because I have plenty of cookies right now. And it was super simple.
I used this mix of nuts, granola, and dried fruit and a bunch of crushed pretzels. It added sweetness and crunch and mixed up each bite.
Easy peasy schmeasy. Perfect for a busy holiday season.
Holiday Mix Bark
1 pack of Emerald Breakfast Nut Blend
1 pack of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 handful of crushed pretzels
Melt the chocolate into the microwave in 30 seconds intervals. Stir in nut mix and pretzels. Spread on a baking sheet lined in parchment paper or foil. Freeze for at least 30 minutes. Once frozen, break into pieces!
