Many of my favorite moments spent with friends are in the kitchen.
Whether it’s eating, baking, or drinking coffee, those times around the table or stove are when we get to catch up but also just relax.
It’s even better when you use up the black bananas on your kitchen counter. Just kidding. (sort of).
About a month ago, my friend Holly and I were able to catch up doing exactly this. After a quick shopping trip, we whipped up this bread and then chatted while the bread baked.
It was a delicious treat and an even more divine afternoon.
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
2 1/2 cups flour ( I did 1 wheat, 1 1/2 white, but you can use all white)
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 very ripe bananas
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Mix together flour, soda and salt. In seperate bowl, beat sugar and eggs. Mash banana and add to sugar mixture. Slowly add in flour mixture. Stir until combined completely. Fold in chocolate chips.
Pour into greased baking pans. We used two 8 inch pans and one mini loaf pan but you can change to your liking.
Bake at 325 degrees for about 50-60 minutes or until toothpick in center comes out clean. (Smaller pans bake faster)
