Strawberry Doughnuts

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I have plans for a busy school/homework filled day that is hectic but I had to make time for a little Valentine’s Day treat.

I’ve been itching to put my doughnut pan back into action after this success earlier in the year so this is the perfect opportunity. Strawberry preserve doughnuts. Yum.

It was simple because I made the batter the night before to minimize morning prep and just popped them in the oven in the morning.

Topped with a pink icing (I had a little bit of an icing fail but I”m sure you can do much better 😉 ) they’re perfect whether or not you have a Valentine.

Strawberry Preserve Doughnuts

2 cups flour

3/4 cup sugar

1 t baking powder

1/2 t salt

2 eggs

3/4 cup milk

3 T oil

1 T vanilla extract

12 oz jar of strawberry preserves

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine dry ingredients. Mix together everything else but the preserves and incorporate it to the dry. Stir and then add in the strawberry preserves. Mix until just combined.

Pour evenly into a greased doughnut pan and bake for 20-25  minutes. They’ll be done when a toothpick comes out slightly moist.
